There are various steps you can take towards having a healthy heart lifestyle, but you have to find what works best for you. Manage Your Blood Pressure Rates

High blood pressure is known by the American Heart Association as a silent killer. It “is the single biggest risk factor for heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular problems. If it’s left untreated it could lead to heart attack, heart disease, congestive heart failure, atherosclerosis (fatty buildup in the arteries that causes them to harden), stroke, kidney damage, vision loss, erectile dysfunction, memory loss, fluid in the lungs, chest pain or discomfort and peripheral artery disease.” There are several steps you can take to help manage your blood pressure rates. Maintain a Healthy Weight

Another healthy hearty tip is to try to maintain a healthy weight. Your weight can become a big factor in your life, especially when talking about the health of your heart. The more weight or fat your body has to carry, the harder your heart has to work to function every day. One of the important ways to help keep a healthy weight is by watching your diet. Swapping out a quick cookie or a small fry for some fruits can be a good place to start. The healthier you are inside, the better you may feel on the outside.

Be Active

Staying active can be a challenge! But it is important to maintain a healthy heart life. Things as simple as taking the stairs instead of the elevator can help you to keep your body moving. Other healthy suggestions for staying active are things like, enrolling in a dance class, taking a walk around your workplace or neighborhood, yoga, a few jumping jacks throughout your day, or anything that gets you going more than your usual routine!

Knowing CPR when faced with a medial heart emergency is a valuable skillset to have. Gaining your CPR certification means that you are taking steps towards being prepared in a number of medical emergencies. Having your Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification is more than just a something you learn because you want to become a lifeguard. Knowing CPR in the right situation can mean the difference between life and death. Learn more about what being certified in CPR can mean for you.

If you experience any signs of heart discomfort, go to your physician. They may recommend a heart-related test, like an EKG Test.

An EKG is a diagnostic test that doctors or physicians use to check the status of your heart. An EKG can also show doctors the rhythm of your heart, and if you need to go in for further testing. A healthy heart tip here would be to check-in with your physician if you are experiencing any signs of heart discomfort, they may recommend a heart-related test, like an EKG test.
